Hear ye', hear ye'!

Here's the animated music video my friend Crom & I busted our asses on for the last (and almost) year! It's nice to say that the viewers have received this video with a nice, warm hug & lots of shares. Enjoy!

Birthday Awesomes.

Yesterday was my birthday & I barely made it through that omnious, hellish date alive. I am a very unlucky person & bad things tend to follow me around every-damn-where. Three days before my birthday, my unlucky-ness turned a lot worse. It's safe to assume that my birthday was no different. So yesterday night, there I was, giving up on life & the world for like the thousandth time in the day, when my phone rang. It was my best bud & animation god, Krüm, stating that I had to check my email. Here's what I found (& please don't mind the shitty upload quality)...

I know you will all enjoy this as much as I did. And if you ever feel as shitty as I was feeling the last couple of days, I will feel pity for you, 'cause none of you got a BFFF as cool as mine & probably never will. Talented bastard is talented.

But hey, not all was shits & (no) giggles. I got a PSN gift card for $50dlls from my beloved bearded man which is plain awesome. I bought my favorite games from my nerdy preteen years & whatnot. And mother gave me the cutest pair of pale pink ballerina flats. My girly levels went up from zero to like, thirty. Maybe forty. Who cares.

Dog Days, Pt.3

I think my brain is dying. I've been working for so long in Alexico's video, that I'm starting to feel completely insane. I'm still around 150hrs of non-stop work to finish the second scene of the video, so that I can afterwards jump into illustrating backgrounds & stills, and cleaning some more minor loops like the one above. Creds to Marco for making the roughs, character design & hideous clean-up to me. Let's hope I don't get killed for revealing yet another piece of the video!

WIP: Dwayne Johnson

So, three days ago I watched Faster & I got flabbergasted by Dwayne Johnson's excessive muscle. He no longer has a neck! So I doodled him halfways... and the doodle evolved into something else which you'll see later. In the meantime, you get the un-finished drawing.

*GASP* ...a dancing dog!

Here's a couple of screenshots of the clean-up work I'm doing for Alexico's video. Also, I got bored & doodled Debbie Harry out of her Heart of Glass video. I fucking hate the world.

Dog Days, Pt.2

Here's some more character development for Alexico's music video. Meet our main guy, the artist himself:

This is just a quick 360 for reference, hence the shitty quality in everything. I don't have any other updates, so I'll leave you to a couple more colorful shit sketches for your entertainment. Hopefully, by the end of this month, y'all get to see the final product.

Stefie out!

Dog Days, Pt.1

I kinda forgot about my blog, but I've been fuck busy lately with work & a ton of freelance projects! First off, I was recently moved to the concept department at work, which is a nice & challenging change. I get to work a lot with colors, which is helping me to pick up on whatever level I had before dozing off to eternal procrastination. I'm also still working on the animated music video I mentioned on my previous post. Unfortunately, I have no roughs to show yet... but here's a couple of characters that will be appearing in the video. Cheers!

Insect Activities

I've been practicing on my animation lately, but I'm quite disappointed in the results. I always thought I had a good eye for animation, but when it comes for me to actually work on movement, my brain turns into jelly and I can't think! Here's one of the first exercises I made:

As you can see, this little fella here looks like he's falling back & the loop is kinda wonky. I had to emergency-call my good ol' pal Marco to get a little help. He found the issue right away. I was starting my walk cycle with a standing position. Tired & a little bummed out, I decided to give it a rest... until today!

Before I started, I did a little research. I read a couple of animation tutorials & worked on their keyframing. This is what resulted of my more studied attempt at animating:

Yep, still a wonky animation, but at least now it's a little bit smoother... except for that weird humping my cockroach warrior does every time the loop restarts. Anyway, feedback is always welcome. Keep on truckin', y'all!

PS. Just because I made you watch my lame animation attempts, here's a cutesy little snake lady I made last week...

What's coming...

I'm working on a personal project related to my favorite movie ever: Krull. It's going to have animation, 8-bit & lotsa Krull goodness, obviously. I think it may take me around three months to complete due my laziness. I'll try hard to keep Belphegor out of this project & hopefully finish it by summer. Greetings to my two faithful readers... here's a treat for y'all!
And if by some god-forsaken reason, you're dumb enough not to know the pure epic awesomeness called Krull, here's the trailer:

Pixelized!

I'm glad to say I finally got a decent assignment at work. I'm currently helping the game department with the art of one of the games & I got a green light to make it 8 bit style. I can't post much until the game is released, but here's a small treat... Greetings, y'all.

Pixeling

In order to keep myself from snapping & violently slaughtering the world, I started doing pixel art, and, if I may say, it's been one of the best alternative therapies I've tried so far. I still hate you all, though. Here's my first animated attempt at it... See y'all!
EDIT: Here's another one... I forgot to put shades in his pants!

11/6/10

WIPs

Here's a couple of unfinished doodles I made in Flash. I'll post the ones I do get to finish someday soon... Greetings, y'all.

C'est fini!

Two weeks before her wedding, my sister decided to ask me for an animation to show at the reception in London. Since I'm not too good at animating, I had to ask my friend & animation guru/mentor Marco if he'd jump into the project. Luckily for me, he did & this is what we managed to do in such a short period of time. Sit back & enjoy!

10/12/10

It's been a long week...

And Crom & I are finally about to finish the animation for my sister's wedding. Yeah, that's what we've been working on and I'm glad to say it's turning quite awesome. I just hope we'll be actually done by Thursday night (in the American continent), so the projection can be made on time at the wedding reception in London. Wish us luck!

Next week...

From the vault... Pt.2

This is an animation I did approximately one or two years ago for a shitty contest. It was my animation final & I was supposed to apply to said contest for a passing grade. My storyline was obviously way out of line, so I never actually submitted it, but still made it through my super basic animation class filler. As you can see, I'm quite an ace at animating, right? RIGHT!?

9/22/10

R&R

This is a little something I've been working on with my friend & super animator Crom. I'll post the final thing once it's finished. Salutes!

9/13/10

Linetest

Some random linetest I did by the end of August. I've barely animated twice in my life, but I guess one's gotta start somewhere, right? Crappy quality is crappy 'cause I had no scanner and I took photos with the best shittiest light available. If I ever find the original drawings (yes, I know it's only been a week, but I was moving!!!), I'll scan them and redo this thing all over!

PS. Does anyone know how to post looped swf's in here? Is that even possible? Marco helped me with some instructions on how to embed a looped swf, but it didn't quite work so, here's the link to the loop if anyone's interested!  It's working now, thank you Crom!
